I put this little tool online because it's sometimes useful for webmasters/surfers or it's a Frequently Asked Question.


Overview:
DES (Data Encryption Standart) is an one-way encryption algorithm. (at this date, nobody can decrypt a DES key)
For this reason, this algorithm became very useful and very used.

Example of use:
It is used to store password in Databases and in files... (example .htpasswd files in many HTTD daemons)

String to encrypt:

(this example form convert a plain text to a DES key)
